Account and location

The City gives each business an account number and numbers its locations: one record here is one location.

Active

The City's definition: a registered business whose owner has not notified the Office of Finance that it ceased operations. Many businesses stop without telling the City.

Start date

The start date of the first business activity registered at this location.

Activity

The NAICS code the business reported itself, in the 2007 classification. It is not checked by the City.

What is not here

Individuals, and any name without a company word (Inc, LLC, Corp, Co…) or the City's corporation mark. Mailing addresses. Tax amounts. Businesses outside the City are shown with council district 0 left out.
